Eugene Cooper Obituary

Eugene (Gene) V. Cooper, age 97, passed away on December 14, 2008 in Colorado Springs due to complications from a hip fracture. Gene was born on July 7, 1911 in Dechard, Tennessee. He has been a resident of Colorado Springs since 1974. He was a retired Santa Fe Brakeman and Conductor and a life member of the Elks Lodge #309 for 46 years. Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and a grandson, Larry Dean. He is survived his daughter; Nancy L. Cooper; step daughters, Fay M. Shade and Jeanie Dean; five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.
