My love, today would have be our 44th anniversary together. It was a very sad day,and it has been very hard to live without you. I miss you so much, and I will love you forever. Until we meet again; Your love and wife, Jesusita.

Daddy today is your and Mama's 44th Anniversary there were so many times I would sometimes foreget,and now that your gone I can't tell you how happy I am that you and Mama have been married for so long. I miss you so much there are so many things I want to to tell you. Every time I talk to mama I hear the the emptyness in her voice. The girls miss you so much we still just can't believe your gone. I love you daddy

Mr. Maes I only knew you brifly through your son, my best friend and fiance. I knew you were a good father to your son, and I wished I would have had the chance to know you myself as a daughter-in-law, but I will get to know you through your son's memories and stories of you. I know you are in a better place watching over him, and Mrs. Maes. With all my heart felt sympathy, and you will be greatly missed by all. Angelic

What a wonderful friend. I have known this man like a daughter knows a father. For over 20 years, half of those years were in prayer for his salvation. The other half was watching the Lord change this great man into a powerful man of God. Who loved the Lord and his family, and what a GREAT grandpa! Having always been blessed when he and his wife came to visit we laughed, prayed, wept, and knew if it were not for the grace of God where would we be. They always had the kingdom of God on their mind sending gifts to our ministry, wanting souls saved. I will forever love this man of God, and will always remember him. Although gone, he will never be forgotten…..Smile! In the picture of my mind I see him giving me a hug before they traveled back to Colorado Springs… He smiled, and said… God Bless you…! Eugene, though I only knew you for a short while I feel I know you well through your daughter and granddaughters, you have left a lovely legacy here and are sorely missed, but we all know we will see each other again when we sit together at the feet of Jesus, how awesome to think that is where you are right now! To me, my father was the greatest man that I have ever known. He instilled hardwork, honesty, integrity, and take care of your family. He was my role model, and even though we have the same name, I will never be able to fill his shoes or walk in them, but will carry on his soul. (From his son, Eugene E. Maes Jr. a.k.a " Geno".)

We send our most heartfelt sympathy to the entire Maes family. We were so sorry to hear of Gene's passing but knowing that he is in no more pain and in a far better place can be a comfort to you. He is now watching over you from Heaven above - guiding and keeping you safe as he did here on earth.

My dad was a born leader and a man with a mission. He was an excellent husband, father, and "papa". He thought he was going to die 11 years ago, but the Lord granted him more time to see all of his grandchildren and great grandson. He has touched the lives of so many people with music and love. He became a Christian on March 7, 1995, his wish would be for you to know Jesus as your Savior. Thanks to everyone who came and suppported my family during this time.

Daddy I can't believe you left so soon!I know you are in a better place and I will see you again! The girls will miss there Papa, you will always be in our hearts and thoughts thank you for being the best daddy ever and the best papa!

I was very sad to see Geno's picture in the paper. I have wonderful memories of sharing our birthday - July 13th. He was 9 years older than me. Geno would come to my office at Municipal Court and sing Happy Birthday to me. It was great to be serenaded by Geno. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

With Deepest Sympathy for your loss of Gene. Uncle Joe Vigil called me last week and told me the sad news. Sorry that I won't

be able to attend the Services, but

I will light a candle for him and Prescilliano at the Cathedral Basilica here in Santa Fe. Tita and Aaron are doing fine and Chris just got married. I haven't seen you for so long but I remember all of you. Your Nephew Wayne Vigil.

We are so glad that Sandi was able to meet Eugene at Sherry's Birthday lunch and that he attended our daughter Jennifer's wedding. Our prayers are with the rest of the family, but we know we will see him again.

Tio, I still can't believe that you are gone. It would have been nice to have seen you one more time and told you goodbye and how much we loved you. I will always remember you playing the guitar and singing me the Mananitas for my Birthday's and I will never forget that. Now you can play your guitar for the Angels. We love you very much. We will always treasure the good memories in our hearts of all the good times that we all shared together over all the years. My condolences and sympathy to the Maes family.

Our sympathy to the Maes family. Diane is a friend of Sherry, Bev, and Bonnie from the old VC days, and Nathan got to know Gene later, playing guitar together at Sherry's house. Good times, good memories. Rest in the peace of Christ, Eugenio.

Eugene and I served together as drill sergeants at Ft Knox, KY. After all these years I still have a platoon picture taken of the two of us together. We shared both good and hard times. He was a good man and a good friend. I will always remember him.
