Eugene Voshage Obituary

Resident of Seminole Florida and formerly of the Castle Rock and Monument, CO areas. After a courageous battle with cancer, Gene passed away peacefully at his home in Seminole, Florida surrounded by his family. Gene was born and raised in Mountain Lake, Minnesota. He was baptized in the Lutheran Church in 1948 and was confirmed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mountain Lake, MN on May 21, 1961. Gene graduated from Mountain Lake High School in 1965. After high school he joined the United States Army. He farmed in Minnesota for 22 years and was a Custom Home Builder in Monument, Colorado, for 15 years. He is the youngest of two children born to the late Christian and Myrtle (Grunenwald) Voshage. He was the beloved husband of Danette Schaal Voshage for over 18 years. Gene will forever be remembered by his devoted wife, Danette, and his children Dakota Voshage (Seminole, FL), Jason Voshage (Monument, CO), Justin Voshage (Mountain Lake, MN) and Jada Voshage Hampel (Mountain Lake, MN) along with 10 grandchildren and countless other friends and family who were blessed to know him. He liked to entertain, enjoyed good food and wine, was an excellent cook, enjoyed golfing, and biking. Gene touched the lives of many people with his smile, and maintained his trademark sense of humor and his deep faith in his Savior, Jesus Christ, all the way to the end. Gene was preceded in death by his son Thadeus Voshage, who passed away in 2007, and his parents Christian and Myrtle Voshage. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 2 PM at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wolfensberger Road, Castle Rock, CO 80104 and then on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 3 PM at Peace Lutheran Church, 5509 West 41st Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57106.
