Evelina Schumacher Obituary

Evelina Alvina Schumacher, 75, passed away peacefully at her Colorado Springs home on Thursday, June 30, 2005.  She was a resident of Colorado Springs for the past five years.  "Evie", as all her friends and family call her, was born January 28, 1930 in Java, South Dakota to John and Anna Beck.  She was married June 12, 1949 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe, South Dakota to Alvin H. Schumacher who preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons and one daughter: Curtis A. Schumacher, Mark H. Schumacher, Keith A. Schumacher, and Gwendolyn A. Schumacher; two daughter-in-laws: Martha and Teresa, all of whom live in Colorado Springs; five grandchildren;six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Elsie M. Bring of Meridian, Idaho. Evie was a person who not only loved her family; but taught her family to love God and accept His grace through Jesus Christ our Savior. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2005 at St Paul's Lutheran Church in Roscoe, South Dakota. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Alvin at Morningside Cemetery; also in Roscoe, South Dakota. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 4318 N Chestnut Street, Colorado Springs, CO. 80907.

I am a friend of Gwen's (Evie's daughter). I am sad to learn the loss of a wonderful woman. She has raised a strong, close family who are fortunate to be able to be together during this time. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
