Evelyn Balaty Obituary

Evelyn A. Balaty, 84, passed away April 19, 2007 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born December 27, 1922 in Fondis, Colorado to Edwin D. and Mary Ann (Meyers) Haynes, who preceded her in death. Evelyn married John C. Balaty in 1952. John preceded her in death in 1966. Survivors include daughters; Melaney (Jim Cary) Balaty; Christa (Jim) Ratigan; Linda (Pat Roney) Balaty; Laura (Lewis) Makings; and Mary Balaty; eight grandchildren; Andrew, Kitt, Nash, Jeffrey, Kenton, Douglas, Marissa and Dakota. There were many passions that Evelyn enjoyed, among them were quilting, sewing, crafts, dancing, and country music. She was proud to be an Honorary Mother of the Legend Band. She also loved her home of 30 years. She was known for her smile and friendliness. The Balaty Family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to her many close friends for all of the help they provided to her. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 21, 2007 from 2-3:00 p.m. at Swan Law Cascade Chapel, followed by services at 3:00 p.m.. Interment will be private at Fairview Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
