Evelyn Canavan Obituary

Married to Jim “his girl for 65 wonderful years, mom served as the Sergeant Major's wife, managing the household, raising the children, and moving it all when the military called. Mom and dad settled in Colorado Springs and made it home for over 60 years. She was a devout member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church, and volunteered for over 30 years with the Pikes Peak chapter of the Red Cross where she supported the troops at Fort Carson Hospital Pharmacy. Mom loved to fish and truly loved being out in the majestic beauty of Colorado. Although we will miss her deeply, mom has joined family, lifelong friends, and angels that watch over us daily. There is a certain comfort in knowing mom is watching over husband Jim, Daughter Pat(Duane), sons Tim(Toni), Dan(Debbi), Ger(Laura), and Grandkids Dena, Kris, Mike, Kate, Justin(Chrisoula), Chris, James, Amy, and Meg. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Red Cross Pikes Peak Chapter, 1040 South 8th St, Colorado Springs, CO 80905-7220. A Memorial Service will be held at Swan Law Funeral Directors at 1:00 pm Monday.
