Evelyn Roberts Obituary

Evelyn Joy Roberts was born July 4, 1926, in Shelbyville, Texas to Mr. Allen and Mrs. Cera Blankenship Williams. She was married to Phillips James Robert in 1943. They were stationed in various locations with the Military, but eventually settled in the Fountain area, making their home there for over 50 years. While she worked outside the home on various occasions, she was primarily a devoted wife, loving mother and homemaker. She was also very active in the Fountain Valley Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian. Her husband Phillips passed away in 1996. She passed away July 10, 2010. She is survived by five children, Phillips Roberts Jr., Phyllis Whetstone of Lawton, Oklahoma, Hal Roberts of Colorado Springs, Donald Roberts of Fountain and Tessa Jowers of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by a sister Patsy Williams of Center, Texas and a brother Willie Thomas of Amarillo, Texas. As well as six grandchildren; Rodney Croskey, Heather Whetstone, Elisa Joy Roberts and Alyssa and Brenden Wilbert as well as five great grandchildren; Lawrence, Da Vanta, Trevon, Lamar and Soulo. She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Roberts who passed away in 2007. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday July 14, 2010 at 10:00am at the Fountain Valley Baptist Church 500 Alabama Avenue Fountain, CO. In lieu of flowers may be sent to Fountain Valley Baptist Church Youth Fund.
