Evelyn Margaret Vasquez (Martinez) was born Oct. 22nd,1940, in La Junta, CO. On May 24th, 2024, she went home to the lord and savior at the age of 83. She was a beloved Vieja, Mother, Nana, G-Nana and Great-Great Nana.

Evelyn was known for her unwavering love for her family and her dedication to creating cherishable moments with them. She instilled beautiful values and morals within her family; always emphasizing the importance of showing love and affection. Her hobbies, especially rock collecting, crocheting, cross-stitching and painting brought her joy; she delighted in sharing these activities with her loved ones.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Willie M. Vasquez, her children Carlos W. Vasquez, Maria Len (Joe) Gonzales, and Rose L. Pennington, along with a large extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who brought her immense happiness.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo Pete & Margaret Martinez, her baby Raquel Vasquez, and her siblings Paul, Gilbert, Gene, Salvadore, and Edith "Punky" Rodriguez.

Services to honor Evelyn's life will be held on June 4th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Colorado Springs, CO, and June 5th,2024, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Junta, CO, followed by burial. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
