7-3-2025 My name is Hans, I was a trapper, hunter and logger from the northern Colorado Rockies. Fresh in my walk with Christ, young family, I moved to a more civilized environment. Colorado Springs. Everett singled me out after a service at Roswell Community church. I had been attending a few months at this time. I could right a book on the journey Everett and I shared. His taking such a Stanger, non conforming buckskinner under his wing has grounded me my entire life, now 73. Although my life drifted off coarse to many times, Everetts mentorship was like a father's and I would find a return to high ground with our Lord . Im writing this as I sit at the table with my wife. As she and I were fellowshiping, I said something profound and she asked me "were did you come up wih that?" I thought for a second, and let me tell you about the man that shared that with me. The story goes on, He had me come three days a week to his office at Navagaters on Cheyenne mountain he signed many readings and then would dicuss what I read and challenge my thinking how I would adapt the new knowledge to my walk with God and learn to explain any redemptive value. Its been many years since I've seen Everett. Vary often the ease of my day will be on a constant recollection of our time together. Untill I see you again Everett I will continue to search out God's heart through Christ, serve as you've so inspired me, even know, and stay keen on the example of Christian manhood ,like you! I would so welcome any of Everetts and Faith's family to reach me. Captain Hans [email protected]

Dad,

It's been one month today since you left us. Thinking about it has not become easier yet, but I guess it will with more time. Your birthday came and with it the thoughts that your departure was way too premature. We know you're where you always knew you'd be, and that your eternity with your heavenly father has only just begun. I have to learn to remember the wonderful years and memories without the heartache of the loss. You are missed terribly, but that too is evidence of your impact on us all. I hope I can earn a fraction of the love and respect that has been expressed at your passing before I leave this world and join you.

Your son,
Bryan

Everett was a fine, Godly man, who worked hard for the Lord up until the very end. I never heard anyone say anything bad about him.

There are no adequate words. Dad opened the world to me by teaching me to think. He modeled integrity, passion, and commitment as an educator and a life-long learner in ways that became part of me. He demonstrated that one can continue learning all through life.

Coach,
Well you have run the race and looks as if you have won a tough and tireless race. As one of your first assignments, I came out alright so you must have been on track from the beginning. I will always have you in my mind and your example in my heart. You will always be part of The Class of '58, Gordon Lee High School.

I am honored to be part of such a lovely family. Ev and Faith have always made me feel welcome. I feel so fortunate to have had such a wonderful man as a gradfather-in-law. I will always be grateful for the few years that I had to get to know him. I will always remember him as an ambitious man who always had some sort of project going on. Whether around the house or with the Chruch, he was always doing somthing. I will always miss him, but I know he is in a place now that he worked his whole life to get to.

Dearest Faith and Family,

What a joy and a privilege to have had the opportunity to have known you and Everett, if only for less than one year. I'm jealous of all those who knew him longer and I hope I'll have a chance to know you better, Faith. I admired Everett's willingness to accept a deaconship down here in Ajijic, Jalisco even when his health was failing. He was a wonderful Bible Study teacher and I hung on every word, even when his voice was raspy. It is wonderful knowing where he is, but I still miss him and his wisdom. My love and prayers are with you, Faith, and your Family,

I first met Everett Boyce in 1977 when I was at the U of Houston working with ISI. Bryan, Mary, Amy and Faith are all wondering if I have the right date. 1977? Ev and the Boyces were living in the Philippines at that time and Ev was most likely on one of his many adventures into China. I didn’t say I met your dad face to face. I didn’t even see his face. I merely saw a picture of Ev from his backside. Let me explain. I was at a Chinese fellowship at the U of H among Chinese from Taiwan, Singapore, and HK—where a man from the Navs was encouraging these Chinese to pray and be prepared to minister to Mainland Chinese when God opened those doors. Most of us taught that might be decades away. Little did we know—we of little faith—that God would open that door wide in 1981. In the Nav slide show, he showed a businessman preparing to go back to China again—smuggling bibles. In fear that his face would be recognized, the slide showed Ev from his backside—on his knees in prayer. That picture of your dad on his knees willing to go into hostile territory--deeply moved me to begin praying for open doors to minister with the same boldness to Chinese students and scholars. What a privilege to know Ev as a man of prayer and a man of faith.

I got to enjoy my dad for 41 years, but it wasn't long enough. The fact that I know he is in glory gives me my only consolation. Last week when he started to fail, I had the mental image of him hanging out with Jesus, and it made me smile. My 19 year old had the same experience the night dad died. He said he saw light behind his eyelids, and saw dad with Jesus. Greg was flooded with peace. I will always be thankful to both of my parents for the heritage of faith they gave me. I hope dad knew how many lives he touched.

Dear Faith and Family,

We will always have fond memories of Everett and the InterFACE trips we took with him. He was a man who truly loved the Lord and had a heart to share the gospel with those around him. We pray the Lord to comfort you in your sorrow right now. We rejoice with you knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior and all of us will see Everett once again some day.

Yes but we all will certainly miss the warm smile Ev gave us all. He knew how to make you feel very special and taught us all much on how to live and love God.

Hey Papaw!
I'm jealous. You're already talking to Christ! Save a couple of questions for me. Thanks for being the greatest grandpa a guy could have. I sound like a souvenir mug. Really, thank you for all the talks, for all the walks and all the words of wisdom. You've set the mark pretty high, but I feel like I'm up for the challenge. I suppose that I better get started on my Doctorate. All you are and all you were will be passed to generations to come.
With love,
Noel

God saw fit for me to be with dad and mom in Chapala for 3 of his last four days on this earth. God wanted him in Heaven, but He knew we needed a couple days to say good-bye. I always be grateful for that.

Uncle Ev lead a life devoted to the Lord and his family. It was a blessing to have him as my Uncle. My visits with Ev and his family will always bring joy and warmth to my heart. He will be missed by many, but the Lord has him now!

I am so glad that the kids, Kat and I where able to come to Colorado last January. I'll always cherish those few days with Faith and Everett. As always Ev had stories and teachings that touched us all. I'll miss that very much. I'm sorry that I'll miss his Memorial Service, but between the expense of flying four children and this being the last week of school I'm needed here to "hold down the fort". Faith, Mary, Brian and Kathleen I understand and share in the loss of Dad.
Love and miss you all.
Donnie
