Everett Lancaster Obituary

Everett D. Lancaster, a resident of Colorado Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2006, surrounded by his loving family. Everett was born on October 15, 1917, in Holmesville, NE. He served his country in the United States Army and upon his return married Roberta Christian on July 24, 1949 in Colorado Springs. Throughout the years, he worked in the travel industry with Continental Trailways. Everett enjoyed attending church, traveling, fishing and hunting, but his greatest joy came from providing love and wisdom to his children and grandchildren. Everett is survived by his loving wife, Roberta; his four children: Debbie (Joe) Farrington; Diana (Dave) Sobotka; Mark (Julie) Lancaster; Brian (Jennifer) Lancaster and his nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16th at Memorial Gardens with a memorial celebration on Monday, July 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2511 N. Logan In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Grace Presbyterian Church.

Dear Mom, Deb, Dine, Mark, and Brian,

My love for your family runs deeper than you will ever know. I am blessed to be a rare friend who was able to be a part of your family by living with you and getting to know you very personally. From that time and to this day, your family's influence will always touch mine. Your loss is ours and we will miss Everett so very much.

I have found that Scripture passages have been my greatest source of comfort, especially during this very early period of mourning. Our great hope is the promise of seeing Everett again and what a celebration it will be!

Thank you for the Christian witness you are and for sharing your Dad with us.

We love you,

Susan, Christy and Stacey

Dear Bobbie and family,

We were so saddened to hear of the loss of Everett. We were just in Colo. Spgs. the first of June and drove by your house but it was very late at night. I told Denis I wish it was earlier in the day so we could drop in on you. It is sad to see our relatives passing one by one and reminds us each of our own mortality. May Jesus grant you peace and comfort at this time of sorrow and know that, even though you don't hear from us often, we think of you often.

Love and Prayers, Denis and Joyce

Dearest Bobbie and kids...we are so sorry for the loss of your (and our!) beloved Everett. The pain you feel is immense at this time, and we share in that with you. However, we also rejoice in knowing that he and Honey Bear are together again and more than likely on some great fishing expedition! Luck be it, they are probably even catching something! The Lord be with you always...we love you dearly.

Dear Bobbie,Debbie,Diana, Mark, Brian and all the family,

I was sad to know of Everett's home going, but hope you are comforted in knowing he is in the arms of Jesus. May Jesus bring you scripture verses and words of hymns to uplift you. That was a good picture in the Obituary. Sincerely, Marietta
