Everett Martinez Obituary

Everett "Marty" Martinez passed away peacefully in his sleep at 7:54 pm Sunday, March 29th. Marty was born on August 7, 1947 to Belinda and Joe Martinez in Denver, Colorado. Marty was a graduate of Adams City High School in Commerce City.

Marty retired from the U.S. Army in 1989 after 23 years of service that took him abroad to many countries to include two tours in Vietnam.

Marty is preceded in death by his parents, Belinda and Joe Martinez and brothers Paul and Frank Martinez.

Marty is survived by his wife, Patricia Martinez of Colorado Springs, and two sons, Anthony "Tony" Martinez of Colorado Springs and Adam Martinez of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his sisters Marveen Bloom and Lucie Swarm of Eugene, OR, 4 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Pikes Peak Church of Christ, 1402 West Pikes Peak Ave on Wednesday, April 8, 2014 at 11:00 am.

A reception will be held after the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please send your contributions to either The Make-A-Wish Foundation or The Wounded Warrior Project.

Marty, Thank you for the opportunity and Honor of bowling with you at the Military National Championships, as a team member and doubles partner. Those are memories I'll always cherish. Our time together every Thursday night bowling on the Perfect Storm League were always enjoyable, I only wish we could have won a championship for you! You will be missed but never forgotten. Pat, Tony and Adam please accept Kathy and My sincere condolences, you will all remain in our thoughts and prayers always. Heavens Bowling Team just got a whole lot better, Rest in Peace Marty!
