Evonne was the older of two daughters of Maurice (Mike) Moline and Mildred Johnson Moline. She was born in Wahoo, NE, attended public schools in her hometown of Mead, NE, and graduated from Mead High School in 1945 at age 16. She continued on to business school in Omaha, NE. There she met Dewey P. Johnson, whom she later married on July 20, 1946, at Alma Lutheran Church in Mead, NE. They had one daughter, Elizabeth Ann.
After a move to Lincoln, NE, and a period of nursing Dewey back to health after an industrial accident, they moved to Colorado Springs, CO, in the Fall of 1954. She maintained the family and the home while Dewey took a job in the dry cleaning business. She also had two sons, Thomas Paul and David Michael. Shortly thereafter, she joined Dewey in the business. They soon became part-owners and in 1972, they bought out their partners and became owners of Your Valet Cleaners and expanded the business greatly. She remained in the dry cleaning business until she retired. After retiring, she and Dewey spent their time as "snow-birds"; half the year in Colorado and the other half at their home in Scottsdale, AZ. They also travelled extensively, both in the USA and overseas. She was an active, lifelong member of the Lutheran church and from 1972, a lifetime member of Soroptimist.
She died peacefully Saturday morning, December 20, at 8:11 A.M. in her sleep.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Dewey Johnson, and survived by a daughter, Beth Norton; two sons, Tom and David Johnson; a sister, Grace Fletcher; and three grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 10, at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church after a private inurnment.
Memorial contributions should be sent to First Lutheran Church (1515 N. Cascade, Colorado Springs, CO 80907).

I was very fortunate to get to know this great lady. I've been close friends with the oldest son for 20 years. She will be greatly missed.
