Flora Adams Obituary

Wednesday, October 3, 2012, Flora Mae Adams was welcomed to heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ where she was joined again with her husband, George W. Adams and her sisters, Dorothy, Marjorie and Cleo. Flora Mae was born the youngest of 4 daughters, December 18, 1924 to Louella and Legrand Estes in Holbrook, Arizona. As WWII was starting, Mom worked at an office reading and reporting on film documents as a part of the war effort at home. Her mother arranged home-cooked dinners at her home for the young "fly boys" at the nearby base. Mom caught the eye of a young Texan and July 1, 1950 George and Flora Mae were married. Flora Mae became an Air Force wife and served her country as an ultimate hostess, wife and mother in many of Dad's military assignments around the world. Together they entertained foreign diplomats, ranking officers and home-sick airmen alike at their family dinner table. She is fondly remembered by her nephews Jock McMurray and Albert Neher. Mom is survived by her two sons, Bill (Cindy) Adams of Hawaii and Brent (Ann) Adams of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Linda (Paul) Schierholz and Maggie Adams of Colorado Springs. She was very proud of each of her nine grandsons and three granddaughters. It is her wishes to thank Hospice, her caregivers Cruz, and Denise. The family will have a private celebration of her life.
