Frances Dollar Obituary

Frances Dollar, Godly wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, mother-in-law and friend to many, quietly and peacefully slipped from the bonds and pain of this life into the waiting arms of the Savior on June 30, 2005. She was born January 23, 1916 in Gibson County Tennessee to Calvin and Lilley Green. One of nine children, she is survived by one brother, Charles Green of Milan, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dollar in 1977 and by brothers: Fred, Obe, Marshall, Tom, and Wallace; and sisters: Ida and Ressie. She is survived by her daughter, Mary and Bill Vollrath; and son, Sam and Lynn Dollar, both of Colorado Springs. She has four grandchildren: Randy Vollrath, Chris and Crystal Vollrath, Shilah and Frank Dennis and Josh Dollar; and six great-grandchildren: Kimber Lee Vollrath, Courtney Vollrath, Scott Vollrath, Dustin Vollrath, Rachelle Vollrath and Ryan Vollrath; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frances' first love was her family and being a homemaker. For many years she was employed bu Current, Inc. She had the distinction of being Miriam Loo's first employee when she first started Current in her home. Her strong faith carried her through many difficult times, always with a smile and an encouraging word for others. Her greatest talent was loving, helping and giving to others. Her family and friends are enriched by the heritage and memories she leaves us. We will miss her greatly but the lifetime of memories she gave us will carry us through the valleys. We rejoice that she has made the final journey into heaven where she longed to go. We had her for more years than we could have asked for, but have released her to God with the promise that we will join her. Goodbye, Mother, Mom, Grandma, Mamaw. We love you dearly. Instead of flowers, the family encourages you to make a generous donation to the wonderful Pikes Peak Hospice organization who help so many families during this time, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Ste 600. 80903. Visitation and greeting family members will take place at Cappadona Funeral Home, 1020 E. Fillmore from 3:00-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 3, 2005. A celebration of Frances' life will take place at Friendship Assembly of God Church at 3685 Bloomington, east of Powers Blvd on North Carefree at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 5th, 2005.

I used to work with Frances in the Christmas Card department at Current. We worked for Anna May Harrison and it was a great group! I have a lot of fun memories of that time. She was a wonderful lady and I know how much she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Mary and Bill -

I'm so sympathetic to you for the loss of your Mother. I am glad that she knew the Lord and someday you'll all be together again. My deepest sympathies to you and your family and to Sam and his family also.

This is to Mrs. Vollrath and Family:

I remember Mrs. Dollar so well -- having lived next door to Randy and Debbie for so many years. She was a delightful lady and always trying to help out Debbie with babysitting and bringing food etc. She is with the Lord and how much better for her. She will be missed greatly though and hard for those left behind. My Mom just passed away in January, so I know how hard it is. She was the same age as Mrs. Dollar.

Christian love, Alice Swanson
