Frances Johnson Obituary

Frances Johnson Aug 2, 1927 - Aug 8, 2012 Resident of Concord Frances (Fran) Johnson passed away early Wednesday morning after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She touched many lives with her warm smile and big heart. Fran was born in Oakland Children's Hospital and adopted at the age of 5 by Alfio and Conchetta Scilipoti. She grew up in Pittsburg, CA, graduated from Pittsburg High School and earned a degree in Education from San Francisco State. Fran enjoyed a 25 year career in education teaching at St. Peter Martyr Elementary, Bishop O'Dowd High School and Carondelet High School prior to her retirement. She enjoyed watching and playing all sports. She was an avid SF Giants and SF 49er fan. Fran is survived by her devoted children, Andrew (Andy) Johnson of Antioch, Alfred (Al) Johnson of Tracy, Signe Johnson of Morgan Hill, Daughter-in-laws Cindy Johnson and Kim Johnson, grandchildren Caitlin, Justin and Trevor, loving family Jean Soares and Angela Kester, and numerous extended family and friends. Her loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 2200 East 18th Street in Antioch. Reception immediately following at Antioch Community Center at 4703 Lone Tree Way.
