Francis Herbert Obituary

Francis E. Herbert, was born on January 10, 1928 in Colorado Springs, CO., loving husband and devoted father went to be with the Lord in Colorado Springs on April 20, 2007 at the age of 79. Mr. Herbert lived in the Colorado Springs area all of his life and retired from the Colorado Springs Fire Department in 1981. He was very proud of his Colorado pioneer heritage and spent his early years farming, ranching and being a dairyman near the Ellicott, CO. area. He was also very patriotic and believed in the principals that led to the founding of America. He was preceded in death by his mother Leona Harding Herbert Book, his father Frank Herbert, daughter Sue Ann Herbert and great-granddaughter Lindsey. He is survived by his wife Mira Herbert; three daughters, Penny McKelvie, Linda DeLoach, Cheryl Escalante; and three sons, Lynn Herbert, Neil West and Larry Herbert. He also has 10 living grandchildren and 11 living great-grandchildren. His life made a positive difference to those he knew. He passed away in peace and he will be missed. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Vista Grande Church of God at 4870 Flintridge Drive. Entombment in the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vista Grande Church of God.
