We, each and every one of us ,walk the paths of life. trying to find the way.
Sometimes we find a man willing to help us. JR was that kind of man. He had the gift of listening. He sometimes helped with a kind word, and sometimes he helped by just listening sympathetically to what you were going through. Then he’d offer a word of encouragement. Many times it was just what I needed to hear.
There were times when I would come to Church tired, or discouraged, and just not feeling like worshiping. JR would be in the back of the Church shouting encouragement. It would quicken my spirit and I would find myself worshiping along with him.
JR was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He touched the lives of so many people. He was a man that his children, and the children of others could look up to. People who knew him could count on having a shoulder to lean on and someone to help pick them up when they needed it. A man who was loved by all those who knew him. It is sad and heart breaking to lose such a man. But in remembering him we remember the good times. The smiles, the laughter and richness that he wove like a tapestry in our lives. We hold a piece of him in these memories, and we will carry him in our hearts now and forever.
