FRANCISCO CAVAZOS
June 28, 1939 August 16, 2018
On Thursday, August 16, 2018 Francisco Cavazos, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at the age of 79. He was born on June 28, 1939 to parents Antonia and Domingo Cavazos in McAllen, Texas. He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1959 then joined the military.
On April 28, 1963 he married Maria Guadalupe Alaniz. They met when she was 13 and he was 17 and were married when she was 19 and he was 23. They were married for 55 years and had four children. He retired after 23 years in the military then retired again after 20 years in the U.S. Postal Service.
He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on June 20, 1992 and joined his wife in serving Jehovah. He faithfully attended Christian meetings where he served as a ministerial servant and spent a lot of time serving in the congregation where he was very meticulous in various assignments. Mom used to tell him, "First I couldn't get you to the Kingdom Hall and now I can't get you out of the Kingdom Hall!"
We look forward to seeing him again in the promised resurrection as recorded in Revelation 21: 3, 4: "With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: 'Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people.' And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
He is survived by his wife; son, Francisco, Jr.; daughters, Lizette Denise Liby, Sandra Sonia Harris and Alyssa Ann Martinez; 10 grandsons, and one granddaughter.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 720 Crestline Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80916.
