Francisco Siquerros Ramirez was born February 8, 1921, in Fort Huachuca, AZ, to the late Jesus and Josephina (Siquerros) Ramirez. As a young man, he was a contender in the Golden Gloves for lightweight boxing. He worked in the gold and silver mines alongside his father and brothers before joining the Army at the beginning of World War II, taking the first steps on the road to victory in Europe on D-Day as part of the second wave of forces on Normandy Beach. After the war he moved to Bridgeton, New Jersey, earned his degree in animal husbandry, bought a farm and started his own concrete finishing company. In 1955, after a major hurricane, he moved his family to Colorado Springs, served in the Civil Service as a GS-13 with the Corps of Engineers, operated as resident inspector during the construction of the Atlas Missiles Project in Silas, KS, the construction of the US Air Force Academy and NORAD. He served as President of the Latin-American Club and retired as chief building inspector for the City of Westminster, CO. He is survived by his first wife, Rosemarie, adored mother of their cherished daughters Linda (Larry) Kirkland, Marguerite (Richard) Conley, Christina (Anthony) Carnevale, all of Colorado Springs, Monika (Nabil) Hanna of Cairo, Egypt, deeply loved grandsons Aaron (Becky) Carnevale, Lindsay (Candace) Conley, treasured great grandson Aidan Carnevale, all of Denver, loved and honored brothers Henry and Oscar Ramirez and dear friend Mercedes Diaz, all of Indio, CA. He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Claudina Ramirez, and beloved brothers Louie, Robert, Mike and Gilbert Ramirez. We will always remember our father's love of music, singing and dancing, his devotion to those he loved most, his courage in all his endeavors, his relentless years of work, and his amazing dedication to his "little girls." You worked so very hard at all of it...your presence is surely forever with us…we love you, Daddy. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Jeffrey Kulp for his years of compassion, support and the dignity he provided for our father. A heartfelt thank you to Pikes Peak Hospice for the loving attention they extend to all, and request donations be made to their committed service. Also we acknowledge the care of the Rombocos family of the Shrine of Remembrance and appreciate the assistance of the Evergreen Cemetery staff. Mass and burial were held Friday, August 22, 2008.
