Francis A. "Frank" Kinney, 86, passed away on January 6, 2015 with his daughter at his side. Frank suffered from Alzheimer's disease and cancer.

He was born January 31, 1928 in Sioux Falls, SD. He began his career in the car business with his father selling new Studebakers and used cars at Kinney's Auto Sales in Flandreau, SD. By 1954 he was a District Manager for Dodge Brothers Corporation in Omaha, NE. Frank married Lee Ann (Rider) Kinney on May 7, 1955, with whom he had one child, Michelle. He then moved his family to Topeka, where he became a District Manager for the Buick Motor Division of the General Motors Corporation. After retiring from General Motors, Frank worked for the Kansas Lottery, and later for the Kansas Secretary of State as Examination Supervisor in the Corporations Division. Lee, his wife of 40 years, passed away on January 17, 1995. In August of 1999, Frank married Dorothy (Moran) Kinney. Dorothy passed away in 2013.

Frank studied at St. John's University in Collegeville, MN. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his only child, Michelle Marie Kinney of Colorado Springs, CO and a sister, Patricia Bickford of Oceanside, CA. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank P. and Edith (O'Connor) Kinney, sister Mary T. Kinney of Worthington, OH, and brother George V. Kinney of Columbus, OH.

Frank will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church.
