My deepest condolences to Joyce and the children...few contributors to the
colorful story of Hawaii in modern times come close to the excitement,
love and sheer joy of serving the
good folks of Honolulu as Frank. He
gave Hawaii his full measure and
is indelibly etched in island history
as a relentless sunshine warrior who
made us all a little bit better just
by knowing him.
Aloha ahui hou,Frank,

To the Family of Frank Fasi,
I would like to express my deep sorrow for the loss of your dear loved one.I found the following thought at Psalms 34:18 to be of great comfort. It reads "God is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are crushed in spirit he saves".
I hope this scripture bring the family and friends a measure of peace.

Our prayers go out to the Fasi family, I would like to express our condolences at this time to your family, I have found the bible to be a source of encouragement; the scripture I would like to share with you is from Revelation 21: 4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

Lived in the islands from 1990 to 1998. All the years I lived there all I heard was Fasi and Fasi and the Ohana love that he gave us. I am in mainland now, but my heart and my thoughts still are in the islands forever. My sadness goes to the Fasi family.

I served at Schofield Barrack from 1972 to 1976. Part of that time I was the Assistant Public Affairs Officer for the 25th Infantry Division. We interfaced with the City on Parades, troop support of events and information boothes at various city functions. Always found the Mayor's Office friendly and helpful which reflects possitively on the Mayor himself. It is sad to hear of Frank's passing. My condolences and prayers to his family.

I served in the military (1976-1979)at Schofield Bks, one of the greatest moments in my life was meeting Mayor Fasi. He once held my 4 year old daughter and gave her a peck on the cheek. During parades and other events he always went out of his way to say hello to my wife and I and he never failed to give my daughter a little kiss. She is now 38 with 3 children of her own and still fondly remembers Mayor Fasi. Our prayers are with the Fasi family.

My heartfelt condolences to the Fasi Family. Mayor Frank Fasi was always concerned about the "little guy" and always tried to make life better for Honolulu. He also appreciated anyone who volunteered with city activities and created a " "Good Guy's Award".
Enjoy the many good memories you have of him. He was truly a special person!
Me ke aloha pumehana.

It has been many years since Frank and I schooled together at Weaver High School.. Four years together and a friendship we both enjoyed during this period of time of our life. Too bad that since our graduating in 1938 our lives have gone different paths. Memories of him live on forever.

My condolences to the whole Fasi family. Frank Fasi was a part of my life growing up and living on Oahu for over 40 years. The first time I met him was when I was only a second grade student at Makakilo Elementary (way back in the late 1960's) and he came to our school for a visit. I'll always remember that. I think my fondest memories are of him giving the "Shaka Sign" and flashing that wonderful smile of his. He was one of a kind! His legacy will live one in Hawaii as well as many other places. God Bless the Fasi familly. With much Aloha,
Kathleen Lyden (Salem, CT---formerly of Makakilo, Hawaii)

I moved from New York City to Honolulu in 1974 and I always looked at Mr. Fasi as a great leader. To me he brought Hawaii into the 20th century, with all he did. He was a man one could talk to and he would listen. Our condolences to his wife and family. Please remember he is only a thought away.

This is sad news. My deepest sympathy to Mr. Fasi's family. My mom (who passed last Tuesday) and I were Fasi fans and voted for him for governor of Hawaii when we lived there. He was a fireball; we loved him. He's stirring things up in Heaven right now, would be my guess.

My family and I lived on Oahu and Kauai from 1967-92. My son, Philip, was born there and graduated from UH. When Mr. Fasi was running for office one time-my son(about 4yrs old) asked me to vote for him. I asked why? He took his little hand and moved his hair to the side and said,"I like his hair". Frank Fasi WAS a man of the people and yes, we always voted for him. Sincere loving and thankful thoughts from our family to yours.

I had the privilege of meeting Mayor Fasi in 1974 when I informally escorted the mayor of a major city in New Zealand to his office in Honolulu. After shaking hands, and smiling broadly, Frank Fasi said to the New Zealand mayor, "You're visiting the best county in the world, you're in the best state, in the best city, and you're speaking with the best mayor". This was Mayor Fasi...colorful, down-to-earth, and doing what he did best to welcome visitors to his beloved Hawaii. Frank Fasi's political style was from another era, but he was genuine and effective. Frank Fasi loved Hawaii and the United States, and was a great ambassador for both.
