Frank Flood was a coach, mentor and friend. I have many memories during my four years attending CC. I can tell you that the stories and and my time spent being coached by Frank in football and track remain some of the very best! I was able to visit with him last fall. And even in his failing health he told me he would be praying for us and others. That was coach. God Bless. Steve Zahorik '79-'83

Just heard about Coach Flood's death. It saddens me and my sympathies go out to his family. Coach was an important part of my life at CC - and in my life thereafter. He imparted crucial facts in a self-deprecating, no-BS fashion. He taught me (the rudiments of how) to box. When I was on the learning end of a match, Coach just shoved more vaseline into my bleeding nose and said "You should block some punches with your hands." He approached life with simple grace and a gruff, muzzy generosity that I will always remember fondly.

Bryan, I just learned of your fathers passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I have great memories of Frank when you and I would hang out at CC, workout and hang with Frank at his place. God Bless you and your family.

I don't know any of Franks children but I do have some good memories of your father. For one thing, I am sure Frank, and Medal of Honor recipient Jerry Murphy will enjoy meeting up again - Heaven will not be the same. I was fortunate to play on a city basketball team with Frank as well as being on the runner up state championship football team with him in 1945. In fact Frank scored the only points for Centennial High School in the State final game. He was a good classmate.

I just learned of Coach Flood's passing earlier in the week. Frank was very important to me at CC. I see his picture and it reminds me of the best times I had a CC as a student athlete. Frank provided me with the tools I needed to become all American in my event-javelin-in 1969. All of us who knew Coach Flood will never forget him.

I just wanted to share my sympathy for my former teacher. Mr. Flood was my medal shop teacher at Freed Jr. High, in Pueblo, CO back in 1957. I remember him as fair, no nonsence, and friendly. May God bless you during this time. Joe Ross

My thoughts and prayers are with Coach Flood's family. I will always remember the great times R.J. Gallardo and I had boxing during the off season. The great stories on road trips and during football practice. More importantly I will always remember the great joy Coach Flood exuded during our time around him. He will be greatly missed!!
