Frank Hartsell, hunter and fisherman by avocation and computer science engineer by profession, died after lengthy struggle with Parkinsonism and Parkinson's related dementia. The caring staff of Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care provided end-of- life care and comfort that was a blessing to Frank and his family. Frank was born in Malvern, Arkansas, the son of Carroll L. Hartsell and Clara J. Hartsell. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carla, his son Jeff, daughter-in-law Vonda, an adored grandson, Connor, his brother Ray (Joyce), his niece, Tracy (Eric) and nephew Will (Lisa).. Frank was educated at Ouachita Baptist University (BS, Math and Physics) and the University of Arkansas (Masters in electrical engineering). Frank served 16 years in the U.S. Army, separating as a Major. Following his service, he had a lengthy career as a computer science engineer for several Colorado Springs defense-contracting companies. A private family service will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii, followed by a spreading of his ashes in the Pacific Ocean. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 East Pikes Peak Ave., Ste 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

I only knew Frank for about a year but he was great neighbor and he gave me the gift of teaching me to fly fish. He was a really good man.

Carla and family - Frank was a classmate in Malvern and his grandparents lived two doors down from us. As youngsters we played together a lot. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing. You have my deepest sympathy.

Hey Frankie,
rest, my brother, you've been through enough. Maybe, now, you'll have time to get that clarinet in tune.

Carla, I am so sorry. My mother died from Parkinson's and I know how cruel that disease can be. I also know what a service hospice provides families. You have been through so much, but reading the obituary tells me that Frank had a good life and the support of a wonderful family. My thoughts are with you. Gail

Dear Carla,
I was so sorry to learn of the passing of your husband Frank. I know from the death of my sister 12 years ago the grief and heart ache you feel, from losing someone you love so much. I pray that God will hold you and your family in HIS loving and comforting arms and that in time you will begin to know peace and healing. My love in XO, Holly

Carla I am so sorry for your loss but happy that Frank has found peace with his loving Father. Of course we were all young in my memories of him. I will make it a point to get a hold of you when I am in the Springs again. I just returned from there today after visiting my Dr. on Monday. Will be back for sure in May. Love, Jill (Journey) Maher
