Dr. Frank Edward Tuxworth III, 87, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born August 4, 1936 to Frank E Tuxworth, Jr and Maurine Hicks Tuxworth in Houston, TX. Frank grew up in Houston and graduated from San Jacinto High School, Rice University and Baylor Medical School all in Houston, TX. Frank was involved in ROTC in High School and was a Captain in the United States Army at Fort Bliss, TX. Frank met the love of his life on a blind date. Patricia Ann Dunson and Frank were married on July 17th, 1959, in Houston. After his military service he moved the family to Colorado Springs, CO in 1968 to start his medical practice as an OB/GYN. Frank enjoyed a successful career and retired in 1996, after delivering thousands of babies!
During his lifetime he enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, and building/flying remote control airplanes. In addition, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing and showing orchids during his retirement years.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Pat, daughter Kimberly Ann Ellison of Smithton, MO, son Frank Edward Tuxworth, IV (Shelley) of Floyds Knobs, IN and son Jeffrey Scott Tuxworth (Christen) of Colorado Springs, CO and four grandchildren; Michael Wenger of Colorado Springs, CO, Matthew Wenger of Smithton, MO, Taylor Tuxworth of St Pete Beach, FL and Frank Edward Tuxworth, V of Madison, WI. Frank is also survived by five great grandchildren; Calvin Anderson Wenger, Alice Elisabeth Wenger, Florence Gail Wenger, Evie Marguerite Wenger, and Frances Jolene Wenger.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Edward Jr and Maurine Tuxworth and his brother Paul Edwin Tuxworth.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 9th at 10:00 am at All Veterans Funeral and Cremation, 1020 E Filmore St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907
