Dear Little Bro.
My heart will never heal after this. I will miss you every day for the rest of my life. I can never look for that "special gift" just for Fred like the Denver Bronco's pancho I brought you from Mexico, or a Sturgis Tee every year. I can never hear you say "Hi Darlin" on the phone again. You and Young raised a wonderful family. I will be seeing you again..I have to have faith in that. I love you

I had the pleasure of meeting Fred for the first time at the URS Xmas party last year. My husband Clyde was his mechanic helper and worked with him up until May when they got laid off. Fred was a wonderful caring person and Clyde respected him so much both as a coworker and friend. I know he misses him greatly and the phone calls talking about fishing and when to file for unemployment amoung other things. He will always be in fond memory. May God bless the family now and always.

My sincere sympathies to Fred's family in Colorado and in South Dakota. My brother and I went to school with him in Rapid City. He was always making everyone laugh and yes sometimes it would get us into trouble but just looking at his photo brought a smile to my face and tears to my eyes from the memories. He was the nicest guy. His kindness and smile could melt anyone's heart in an instant. Our prayers are with each of you as you go through such loss.

Our deepest sympathy to all the family. Fred was a wonderful person. I had the pleasure of meeting him for the first time at the Xmas party for URS last year. My husband Clyde was his mechanic helper at work as well as good friend. Clyde admired him greatly both as a leader and good friend and will miss him greatly just talking to him about his fishing and not forgetting to file his unemployment. He will remain in our thoughts always. God bless always. Clyde and Lynnette Perkins

I am so sad to learn of this. Fred was so dear to me. My best memories are playing "Aggravation" at the kitchen table with Pat and Mabel. What a precious family!!! And times spent with Linda and Robbie. Ohhhhh how I loved this family and Fred. I am very very sad for his family in South Dakota and in Colorado. Everyone that knew Fred was blessed to know him. His laugh was contagious and infectious. He loved loved loved his friends and everyone around him. He was SO FUN to be with! He was very dedicated, committed, genuine, and honorable. No matter WHAT he was doing, he was giving it his very BEST. He was so incredibly devoted to his job, his family and life. He loved life like no one else I have known. And he loved his family so much! Fred was the epitome of dedication to family and love for family. And like his dad, he could fix anything!!! He was just the best best best and I am so sad to learn of this. So sad. I loved him very much. I loved his smile and he was always such a TOUGH DUDE! He was tough yet adorable. What a huge loss. Thank God there is a Heaven and we can look forward to seeing him again.

Being only eleven years older, Uncle Fred was more like a big brother than an uncle. He certainly treated me like a little brother. He teased me incessantly, but also taught me how to drive a stick in his prized Barracuda. He also let me blow the cobwebs out of his Harley while it was in storage at my grandparents house while he was stationed out of the country. We always enjoyed cruising around the Black Hills together in his Barracuda with the music cranked and windows down whenever he came back to town on leave. I'm grateful that I got to spend one last time with him a few years back watching the Broncos, drinking a cold one and enjoying Young's cooking. I'll never forget that day.

My deepest sympathies to Young, Angela, Lisa and Freddy. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
