Frederick Seitz Obituary

He was raised in Baltimore Maryland with his brother, Robert and sister, Ruth. Enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17, he was promoted to the rank of Major while becoming a naval aviator. He retired after 20 years of service, with action in Korea and Vietnam. He then operated various businesses, helicopter sales/service, fixed wing aircraft maintenance, and investment counseling. His hobbies included camping, sailing, and fishing, but his greatest enjoyment was from golf. He spent many days/years on the Air Force Academy courses. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 58 years, and his 5 children, Frederick, Teresa (Mongillo), Walter, Matthew, and Elizabeth, 5 grandchildren, Joseph, Jennifer, Matthew, Nicholas and Kahealani, and two great-grandchildren, Calvin and Keira. Fred was an excellent husband, father, and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fidelis. Memorial Services will be held at the New Life Church, 11025 Voyager Parkway on Tuesday, March 17th at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice.

Fred,

You will be dearly missed here on earth. Your radiant and beaming smile were contagious! We will miss your gentle and kind ways, loving demeanor, laughter and all of your very interesting stories that you told about the United States Marine Corps. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine". There is no doubt about that. You were a terrific husband, father, friend and role model to all you encountered. Thank you for all of the sweet things that you have done for our family. We will hold fond memories of you forever. May you rest in peace with the Lord. We love you.
