Frederick Walker Obituary

Fred Walker, age 79, a resident of Peyton, Colorado since 1997 and formerly of Monument, Colorado passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at his home. He had been the president of Central Mortgage and Investment Company and after retirement in 1984, made his hobby a business by restoring Kaiser Frazer automobiles. Frederick William Walker was born on November 29, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Russell and Elsie (Handy) Walker. After high school, he worked his way up through various occupations, raised a family and later married Erma Moore on January 29, 1969. Fred was a long time member of the Downtown Colorado Springs Rotary and former Chief Judge of the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club International. He is survived by his loving wife: Erma; his son: Barry (wife, Christina) Walker of Dover, Arkansas and his daughter: Dona (husband, William) Bryant of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his brother: Jim Walker of Colorado Springs; his sister: Dorothy Walker Crowe of Vero Beach, Florida; and five grandchildren: Brandon, Andy, Dayna, Justin and Brittany. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Robert C. Walker, and his stepson, Christopher Bell. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel. Friends may visit one hour prior to the services. Private entombment will follow at the Mausoleum. A reception will then be held at the family's home in Peyton. Memorials in Fred's name may be made to the American Heart Association, 415 N.
