Gabriel Vincent Malek Gabriel Vincent Malek, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 of Suicide, at the age of 27. Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend, Gabriel Malek was born on July 24th, 1985 in Stockton Ca. Gabriel was an amazing human being that found himself wrapped in addiction and unfortunately perceived no way out. "Gabe" was an excellent skateboarder and athlete. He enjoyed fixing cars, computers, and anything mechanical. He also developed a love and talent for cooking. Gabe was the type of individual who thrived in whatever he put his mind to. In recent years, fishing became one of Gabe's favorite pastimes, loving to fish anywhere he could, but especially in his favorite fishing ponds of Three Rivers. He always had a humble spirit and was quick to help someone. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved to make people laugh, yet also had a very tender heart. He also had a love for animals. Gabe was preceded in death by his father, John Malek, whom he missed terribly, and survived by his mother, Jannelle Malek, brother Dameon Malek, sister Desiree Malek, brother in law Brian Vogel, sister in law Kriste Malek, nephews George, Jordan, and Stephen, and nieces Faith and Emma, and relatives of the Malek and Martineau families. He was deeply loved and will be painfully missed by all of his family and friends. We hope and pray we will one day see his face again. A private memorial of his friends will be held in the near future. Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and help in this time of great sorrow. Are hearts are hurt for your lost, I will cherish the time that Gabe would skate over to the ambulance station when Dameon and I were working and play video games until we got a call or it was time for him to go home, I will always remember his kind and polite spirit he had.

I read the newspaper this morning...and this young man caught my attention....but more than anything I was so moved by the mention of his passing by suicide. It must be so painful to face his death but you have no idea how awesome it is that as his family you would write that into his obituary. Too many times people are afraid to discuss or admit that suicide is such a problem especially for young people. I commend you for your strength and what an awesome young man he was, addiction is difficult and with that comes the depression. May God Bless him and your family...thank you for sharing his life it can make the difference for so many.
