Garfield Sumner Obituary

Sumner
Garfield "Cy" Sumner
July 6, 1926 - March 17, 2018
Garfield "Cy" Sumner was born July 6, 1926 in Iowa . Cy was an expert pipe-fitter and recognized in his industry across the country. After retirement he was the neighborhood "fix-it guy". His greatest passion was playing saxophone. He played in many bands, right up to the last few months of his life.
Cy enjoyed conversation with everyone he met. He lived life, in his easy-going manner, to the fullest for nearly 92 years.
He died peacefully at home in Idaho on March 17, 2018 with his wife of 38 years, Mary Jane, by his side. Cy was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Carrie Sumner, three brothers, one sister and his beloved son Craig.
He is survived by his ex-wife, and friend, Maxine; daughters Connie McCumber (Dan), Candice Sumner (Vince); his grandchildren Dustin (Trish), Mindy and Brandi (Paul); six great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, and life-long friend, Harold Rose.
His step-family includes three daughters, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. There are many extended family members that will miss their sweet "CyPa".
A Celebration of Life will be on what would have been his 92nd birthday, July 6, 2018 at Crystola Road House at 5:00 pm in Crystola, Colorado.
