Garry Wayne Hale, age 70, passed away on January 28, 2024. He was a resident of Colorado Springs. Garry was born July 19, 1953 in Richmond, Indiana to Henry Hale and Ruth Overstreet. As a small boy, he moved to Houstonville, Kentucky and considered Kentucky his home state. Go Wildcats! Garry served in the Air Force for 23 years, the last six at 50th Space Wing on Schriever Air Force Base. He then worked as a civil servant for Navy Space Command at Schriever for another 18 years. He married Sandra (Goodwin) in December 1973 and just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary. Family meant everything to Gary.
He enjoyed taking long walks every day, playing with his pets, and volunteering at CASA. He is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughters Kimberly (Christopher) Heydlauff of Palmer Lake and Deborah Hale (Ernest Kirklin) of Colorado Springs, and grandsons Kayden and Karter Kirklin and Logan Heydlauff, his nieces, Jennifer Hale of Boston,MA, Aleesha (Jeff) Reynolds of Danville, KY, and nephew Jerry (Jennifer) Colyer of Danville, KY. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruth, his brother Henry, and his sister, Rita, his nephews John Colyer and William Hale. Services will be held February 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church with a viewing beforehand.
