Dear Gwyn and families - We're so sorry to hear you've lost Gary, but we'll bet he's singing in those heavenly choirs. Sending prayers and warmest hugs to you and all. Irving and Joyce Johnson

In summer 1986, School District 11 hired me to give a math problem solving course for math teachers. Best problem solver in my class was a "data processor" Gar Miller. I convinced him to go back to teaching. Starting in 1987, Gary had served for decades as one of key judges of the Colorado Mathematical Olympiad (1984 - Present). In the picture, Gary is in the middle, Bib Ewell on the left, Keith Mann in the middle background, and I on the right. Gary was a true Gentleman, talented problem solver, always calm and positive. He will be missed by many; I miss Gary...

I worked with Gary for many years at the UCCS Math Olympiad. Truly, a gentleman and a scholar.
