Gayla Jensen was called to her heavenly home on February 24, 2021, in Colorado Springs, CO. She was the daughter of Ed and Gladys Luett. She was raised on the family farm in Iowa and graduated from Elwood Consolidated High School. She is a graduate of the St. Luke's School of Nursing in Davenport, IA. She met her husband, Steve Jensen when she was a student. As an adult she attained her Bachelor's of Nursing degree and worked for several years at a local nursing home.
Family and faith in the Lord were the most important things to Gayla. Together with her husband, they raised three sons: Randy, Tim and Matt. Steve preceded her in death in 2019.
Gayla and Steve were able to enjoy traveling during their 56 years of marriage to visit family in Iowa, Texas, Florida, Oregon and Hawaii.
Gayla is survived by her sons Randy (Angie) Jensen, Houston, TX; Tim, Co. Spgs.; Matt (Dawn), Co. Spgs.; Grandchildren: Kyle Jensen (Olivia), Alia Jensen, Houston, TX; Charles (Katie) Jensen, Utah; Jessica Jensen Co. Spgs. Great-grandchildren: Emma Jensen, Houston, TX and Rhett Jensen, Utah. Additionally, Gayla is survived by brothers Dave (Elaine) Luett, Maquoketa, IA; Edward (Kathy) Luett, Salina, KS and a sister, June Luett, Neenah, WI; sister-in-law Jodi (Ken) Brown, Bellevue, IA; brother-in-law John (Chloe) Pahigianis, Chicago, IL. Numerous nieces and nephews in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas and Arizona are left to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by sister Chloe, brother Allen, niece Kara and brother-in-law Ron Jensen.
The family would like to thank Pastor James Seiltz for his caring and support during this difficult time, doctors and staff for their loving support through this journey with ovarian cancer.
