Geneva Lee Leonard passed away on Sept 6, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was a homemaker and an Air Force wife and enjoyed her church community at Peterson AFB until her health prevented it.
Geneva was born in Grant Nebraska to Victor and Carrie McCormick and was one of 5 children. They were a close-knit family and "Tykie" continued to enjoy time with her extended Nebraska family including many nieces & nephews. In 1952, she married a handsome young man, Merrill Leonard, as he entered the Air Force. They would be stationed in different parts of the US and Germany; ultimately making Colorado Springs their permanent home for over 45 years.
She is survived by her three children, Sherry Dunn, Merry Leonard and Garry Leonard, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death after 65 years of marriage to her loving husband, Merrill; her sisters, Virginia and Janette and her brother Dwayne and son-in-law Bob Dunn.
A funeral service will be held on Wed, Sept 15th at Cappadona Funeral home at 1pm
