Gentino Sullo Obituary

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend Age 82, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1967, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Pikes Peak Hospice Residence. He was retired from the United States Army specializing in Logistics. He served as an associate professor of R.O.T.C. at Colorado College and was a WWII D-day Veteran. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Disabled American Veterans and The Retired Enlisted Association. Gentino was born on February 23, 1924 in Hershey, PA to Jesse and Nancy (D'Angelo) Sullo. He graduated from High School and entered in the Army. He served his country faithfully and honorably for over 29 years. He is survived by his loving daughter: Nancy Edwards of Colorado Springs and two grandsons: Matthew Michael Martinez and Joseph Iverie Taylor IV, both of Colorado Springs. Also surviving is his sister: Jenny Jarvis of Hagerstown, Maryland and Ralph and Gerry D'Angelo of Peekskill, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, five sisters, and his wife: Yukiko T. (Ashizawa) Sullo who passed away in December of 1990. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1520 E. Yampa St., Colorado Springs. A reception will follow the mass at the church. Private inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the family of Gentino J. Sullo to be later dispersed among charities and reasonable causes.
