George Loren Jenkins, 70, passed away on April 25, 2025, in Colorado Springs, CO. Born on September 28, 1954 in Chicago IL, George graduated from Reeds Springs High School in 1972 and spent his life as a cherished member of the Colorado Springs community.
George is survived by five brothers and two sisters, along with an aunt and uncle, many nieces and nephews, many cousins, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Jenkins, Loretta J. Jenkins, and his niece Jennifer.
A lover of the outdoors, George found joy in walking through Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City, and Manitou Springs, appreciating the beauty of the mountains. His passion for vinyl records spanned a lifetime, and he enjoyed sharing his eclectic music taste, which ranged from sixties music to classical, with friends and family. George also wrote poetry in his younger years and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, where he celebrated his faith.
A celebration of George's life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Colorado Springs, located at 317 E Kiowa St., on Monday, May 12, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cheyenne Village Inc. or The ARC of Pike's Peak, both located in Colorado Springs, CO, in memory of George.
