George Moberly Obituary

George H. Moberly, lovingly and affectionately known to everyone as "Uncle George" passed away at his home on August 13, 2007. He was 84 years young. George was born in Colorado Springs on February 22, 1923. He served in the United States Marines for 3 years during World War II. He came home to marry the love of his life Monica Urban. They were happily married for 61 years. George is survived by his two sons Bradley Moberly and Danny and Leslie Moberly. He has two grandsons Clint and Ross Moberly who were his pride and joy. George was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters Albert, Alta, Bob, Harold and Sis. George was a man of many talents. He and Monica owned Moberly's Boot and Saddle Shop and were in business in Colorado Springs for 32 years. He was also a Regional Sales Representative for Nocona Boot Company. George was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one. During his retirement he continued doing what he loved, repairing cowboy boots in his garage shop until the day he passed on. George had a very full and fascinating life. His love of family, work and fishing kept him going. He will be remembered for his story telling, his generous spirit and his zest for life. A visitation will be held on Thursday Aug. 16, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel from 4 to 7 PM. Services will be on Friday Aug. 17, 2007 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM with Entombment to follow.
