George Tomsha Obituary

June 16, 1925 - October 17, 2008 George D. Tomsha, age 83, a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2008. He was born on June 16, 1925 on the Harris Ranch, now known as the Flying W Ranch, a son of the late Robert and Lillian Tomsha. George worked at Ft. Carson during World War II as a truck driver. He also worked for the Midland Railroad for several years. He retired from the City of Colorado Springs Street Department after 34 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and devoted his love to his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children; son, Donald (Laurie) and four daughters, Priscilla (Edward) Stiles, Carolyn (Ron) McDaniel, Marilyn Russell and Leslie Tomsha; nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one sister, Dorothy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, William and Leslie; four sisters, Maxine, Pauline, Elsie and Evelyn; son-in-law, Anthony Swan, and a great granddaughter, Sara Russell. He will be missed by his children and extended family and all those who knew him. Services will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in the library at Union Printers Home, 101 S. Union Blvd., Colorado Springs. Donations may be made to Union Printers Home Dreams Come True Program or Pikes Peak Hospice. Services entrusted to: Funeral and Cremation Care 930 S. Hancock Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
