Gerald Stocking Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" Stocking was the son of Edwin M. Stocking and E. Virginia Stocking. He was born in Topeka, Kansas but was raised in the suburbs of Denver with his older sister Carol and two younger brothers Rod and Jon.

Jerry was married to his wife Debra on October 26th 1985 in Woodland Park. They have lived in Divide for the last 29 years, where they raised their three daughters Shilo, Haylee, and Cory. He was the proud grandfather of one grandson Carver and three granddaughters Kura, Lux and Wintyr. He loved and adored them dearly.

He was well known in the local community as the founder and owner of Home Town Garage until he his health started failing. He worked most of is life as an auto mechanic as well as in customer service. He was well respected and admired by his fellow community members.

Jerry loved going to car shows, driving his Honda s2000 and working on his many mechanic projects in his very full four-car garage. He also was a history buff who enjoyed visiting museums, art galleries, and theatrical performances. Anyone who has been to a museum with him knows it was never a short trip but an all day occasion. Just ask his Father-in-law.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, Jeeping, and canoeing. He and his wife Debbie made an annual canoe trip to Ruby Horse Thief every year for over 20 years and didn't miss one until this past year.

He passed early Sunday morning surrounded by his daughters, wife and siblings. He will be greatly missed by his entire family, which includes several nieces and nephews.
