Gerald Trussell Obituary

Gerald (Jerry) E. Trussell, age 89, passed away April 16, 2010. He was born August 18, 1920 in Cordell County, Bogard, Missouri to Jewel and Cordie (Minnis) Trussell. He is survived by adopted son Richard (Nancy); step-sons: Richard (Kathy) Sullivan and Kirk (Laurie) Sullivan; granddaughter, Chloe Trussell, of Adelaide, Australia; step-granddaughters: Kelsey Sullivan and Lindsey Fest; and daughter-in-law Sue Trussell of Adelaide, Australia. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, a son Robert Trussell, sisters Rachel Fox and Artelia Kelley, brother Bobbie D. Trussell and step-grandson Drew Sullivan. Gerald grew up in rural Missouri and graduated from Tina, Missouri High School. After graduation he joined the Army Air Corps and served as a radio operator on a C-47 during World War II. After he left the Air Corps he moved to Colorado Springs where he was employed by Westland Theaters. He spent his life in the theater business, working in Colorado Springs and Pueblo where he met and married his wife, Betty on December 7, 1973. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1983. He leaves behind many friends and relatives. Since 2005 Jerry lived in Sunrise Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 5526 N. Academy Blvd., #108, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 or the Alzheimer's Association, 2315 Bott Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904. Private family services are pending.
