Gerry Brazier Obituary

Gerry Harris Brazier of Woodland Park, Colorado died Monday, June 20, 2022 at Brookdale Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, of natural causes. His wife of 51 years, Roberta, preceded him in death by less than a year. He is survived by a son, Ken, 14 nieces and nephews, and two first cousins.
Gerry was born March 2, 1941 to George and Margaret Brazier, the youngest of six children (three half-brothers and two sisters).
In 1963 he was drafted into the army to serve at a radio listening post in Asmara, Ethiopia. Fortunately, he elected not to re-enlist for Vietnam; upon returning to Kansas City he met his future wife at Unity Temple.
Gerry worked for a number of employers over the years, including for the Post Office, Hewlett-Packard after his wife convinced him to move to Colorado, and for two Colorado school districts - whatever it took to support the family he loved.
Gerry attended and worked for Unity in Kansas City and Church in the Wildwood in Green Mountain Falls, where he volunteered recording sermons on audio tape for years. Even after retiring on disability due to narcolepsy, he and Roberta enjoyed attending bible study with friends.
A graveside funeral is planned for 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 12 at Memorial Gardens Cemetary in Colorado Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
