I am the mother of one of the many students who attended Fort Carson High School in Fountain. Gertrud was one of the teachers who had a deeply impact on my son in an extremely positive way because she taught him to see life through the eyes of a woman who had experienced great tragedies but who turned them into positive experiences with great resilience. In addition to teaching her the German language and the love for life and nature conservation. I want to thank her for everything, a woman of great values.... I can only say that she is resting next to God. My condolences to the entire family.

Getty made the most of "this one precious life". Thanks for the friendship, memories, and inspiration to 3 generations of the Feiler/Meinig families.

One of the first things I remember Getty ever saying (approx. 45 yrs ago) was if she could change the world, her first priority would be to abolish ALL wars. She adamantly advocated for that throughout her life. As the above obituary states, she loved and did so much to conserve the natural environment. Additionally I couldn't agree more with your statement as follows. "Everyone who met Getty knew that they had just met one of the kindest loving souls this earth has known." Love to and prayers for Getty, her family & friends always.
