Gilbert Madrid Obituary

Gilbert T. Madrid, 82, passed away on March 2, 2016 at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

After 20 years of proudly serving with the United States Air Force, Gilbert retired and then proceeded onto a career with Schlage Lock in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Upon his retirement from Schlage Lock, Gilbert enjoyed watching sports and spending time in Cripple Creek, Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Madrid; loving children Pearl Madrid (Rob Lewis) of Vancouver, Washington, Thomas (Dollie) Madrid of Pray, Montana, Wanda Madrid-Diaz (Gerald) of Arlington, Virginia; grandchildren Myles Block and Anamarie Diaz; step-children Linda Vanderpluym, Patricia (Vic) Sauget of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Spicer of Columbia, Missouri.

A graveside service will take place Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 12:30 PM, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave, Denver, Colorado.

I worked with Gil all his years at Schlage Lock. He was a good friend and his laugh and smile will be missed.
