GILLIAN MARY ADAMS
May 2, 1935
January 20, 2019
Gillian Mary Adams, 83 was called home to our savior January 20, 2019. She was born in Wellingborough, England to Alfred and Ellen Thompson.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters (Madge & Sylvia) and brothers (Geoff, Tony & Jim). She and her fiance Paul journeyed to America, where they married June 2, 1962 at Warner Robins AFB, GA.
After being stateside for many years, she decided it was time to become an American citizen. She studied relentlessly. When the day came to test, she dressed in a beautiful navy and red suit, to honor America. (Gill was always known to dress up if she went out, having her face and hair "just so"). She passed the citizenship test with flying colors, and was extremely proud of this accomplishment; she did not take what she had sworn lightly. Gill had many stories, and lots of "English" sayings that made us roar with laughter. She was an avid fan of Cripple Creek, where she loved to play the penny slots. Gill was a loving, caring person. She will be greatly missed by all her friends, family, and especially Vinny, Chopin & Mr. Biddles (the mischievous dogs who always managed to find their way to her home, where she opened her arms to cuddle with them, and spoiled them with goodies.) She was a lover of all animals, especially dogs.
She was laid to rest alongside her husband Paul, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery February 12th.

Gillian was a good friend, always cheerful and a delightful companion on our Cripple Creek ventures, playing the slots very prudently. I for one have missed her for some time, and will miss her greatly as long as I live.
