MARTINELLO, Giovanni Battista "John"
After a brief illness, with his family by his side, on December 19, 2014 at 70 years of age. Beloved husband and best friend of Sheila. Loving Dad of Eric, Joanne Thompson (Gerry), Jamie (Darla), Johnny and Jay (Andrea) and step-father of Shari Rocheleau (Brad) and Tammy Blair (Jeremy). Cherished Nonno and Papa John to David (Cari), Jesse, Kaili, Jordan, Edward, Isabel, Nicholas, Tristan, Rylee, Peyton, Kaidyn, Chance and Jayce. Treasured Bisnonno of Dallas, Mackenzie, Alex, Kailyn, Jackson, Landin and Noah. Predeceased by parents Achille (1972) and Giovanna (2003). Dear brother of Stefania and the late Gian-Franco (1947). John will be sadly missed by his many friends and extended family. John retired from the Tool & Die industry, he was an avid golfer, an expert wine connoisseur, excellent chef and a long time member of the Giovanni Caboto Club, Trevisani Nel Mondo, Alpini Windsor and an informal "member" of the Fogolar Furlan. If you so desire, donations to the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation or the Italian Handicapable Association would be appreciated by the family. Visitation Sunday, December 28 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Monday, December 29 at 10:15 a.m. from

My dearest john, dad, friend and the best papa to my kids. I was so lucky and blessed to have u in my life as long as I did. Thank you for making my mom so happy and loved... For treating my mom so special and accepting all of us as your own. We were so lucky to have so many memories??. I'll smile when I remember all our shopping excursions to the U.S. And the time you turned the wrong way down a one way! Lol. The kids will never forget all the times you took them for expressos and I'll remember you when they curse in Italian! Thanks again! For all their games you watched and how proud you spoke of them. There will always be a special place in my heart for you...I love you and I will miss you! Lastly.....I will never forget you always giving me s$&@ for kissing you on the wrong side of the cheek.... But I really was right the whole time because I got to kiss you twice as much! Missing you dad.... Love Tammy

John was in my class at St. Angela School, when he first came to Canada. We still laugh about the story when we dragged their family console television to school so we could watch the World Series, with Brother Timothy... Always had a smile on his face. Lot of good memories. Condolences to his family.
