Gladys Beals Obituary

Gladys Beals, born June 10, 1928, passed to her heavenly home on October 30, 2013.

She is survived by her son, Doug of Dubois, Wyoming; daughter, Debbie Swayne of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Kristen, Jessie, and Joe; and great-grandchildren, Tony Jeslynn, Jackson, Jasmine, Sophia and Kyrie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Beals, parents, two brothers, one sister, and many dearly loved friends and family.

Gladys was born in Bangor, Iowa and came to Colorado Springs after high school graduation. She met her beloved Ted in 1948 and married April 24, 1949. Their loving marriage was an inspiration to all. Gladys was a homemaker for the first 16 years of marriage. She then worked in the Motor Vehicle Department until retirement.

Gladys touched the hearts of so many people with her love, kindness and generosity. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was respected and loved by many. She will be missed and live in our hearts forever. Her Christian faith influenced her entire life.

Mom, did you know that you were our hero? You were all of those things we're striving for… because of you, we can climb toward that higher mark. We've had a part in all of your glories, now we share a part of your strengths. We thank God for letting us share your life.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Winslow Court, 3920 East San Miguel Street.
