Gladys MacKeen Obituary
A Homemaker, Gladys was born December 16, 1925 in Salida, Colorado and has been a long time resident of Colorado Springs.
Her interests included a love of bowling, which included having served on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Springs Bowling Association, as well as a love of Golf and playing Bridge.
Gladys was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Joe D. MacKeen, Sr., and her son Andy MacKeen.
She is survived by a son, Joe (Chris) MacKeen, Jr. of Lubbock, Texas and a sister, Mary Ellen McMillan of Colorado Springs.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with Funeral services to be held on Thursday November 10, 2016 at 10:00 AM, Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, Colorado Springs. Private Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

I have so many memories growing up on Pleasant St. next door to Gladys and Joe. Whether it was setting up our croquet game on their front lawn, high jumping in the back yard, or roller skating down the sidewalk in the front yard, Gladys was always there to make sure we were safe. She was there if we had a problem and we were always welcome in their house.
Thank you to Gladys for contributing to our happy childhood. Condolences to her remaining family.

Gladys was a long-time next-door neighbor and wonderful friend. We will miss her, but carry her and her beloved husband Joe in our hearts forever. She and I shared many happy times playing bingo or making the occasional trip to Cripple Creek. My favorite memory is of her and Joe sitting together on their front porch. My love and sympathy goes out to her son Joe Jr., sister Mary Ellen, niece Lynn and Joe's ex-wife Chris who honored Gladys by coming with Joe to Colorado Springs. Gladys is at peace now with Joe and her beloved son Andy. I pray for healing for her family.
