Glenn Davis

Glenn W. Davis, 82, of Granite City, Ill., born March 10, 1933, in Arcata, Calif., passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

Glenn was a Korean War veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had worked as a salesman for Dubois Chemical for many years before starting his own company, Gateway Chemical Products. Glenn loved boating, racing, camping, watching sports, especially football. Glenn's home was the gathering place for his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, his friends and his dogs. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 57 years, Joyce Ann, nee Durborow, Davis, whom he married on Feb. 17, 1955, in Lafayette, Ind., and who died Sept. 14, 2012; parents, Wilmer and Bertha, nee Grant, Davis; a son, Kirk Davis; two sisters, Lucille Preston and Darlene Laud; and his brother, Grant Davis.

Surviving are his loving sons, Todd (Cindy) Davis of South County, Mo., Colin (Michelle Margrabe) Davis of Granite City, Ill., and Brent (Lori Flowers) Davis of Granite City, Ill.; proud grandfather, to Austin Davis, Wesley Davis, Sarah Davis, Britney Davis and Brendan Davis; dear sister, Joyce Henry of Moline, Ill.; many nieces, nephews; extended family and friends.

Memorial donations may be given to American Cancer Society or Granite City A.P.A. and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.

Funeral: In celebration of his life, funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at Irwin Chapel, with Rev. Darrel Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, Ill.
