Glenn Scofield Obituary

Glenn Scofield, 74, of Colorado Springs, died of a sudden heart attack February 28, 2007, while at Colorado College setting up a booth for the Lions organization. Glenn was born February 9, 1933 in Turner, Oregon. Glenn was a retired teacher; an educator who taught at both the high school and the college level. He was also an administrator: a junior high-school principal and a school district superintendent for eight years. Glenn and his wife of 33 years, Shirley, moved to the area in 1988. Glenn is survived by his wife and seven children: Debra Elliot, Steve Scofield, Ken Scofield, Beverly Nirschel, Robert Nirschel, Richard Nirschel, and John Nirschel. Glenn served the Colorado Springs community for many years as a Lion in the Security Lions Club. He was a past-president of the club and a past District Governor. A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m., April 7 at the Colorado Lions Camp in Woodland park, where Lion Glenn served as Camp Administrator from 1990 to 1994. Lion Glenn worked tirelessly to help others, always with a bright, warm smile, a hearty laugh, and in a well-organized manner. His entire life of service was an inspiration to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Colorado Lions camp to sponsor handicapped camperships. The mailing address is: Colorado Lions Camp, P.O. Box 9043, Woodland Park, CO 80866
