Gloria Marie Francis, age 95, passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2024.
Gloria was born December 16, 1928, to Thurman and Marion Schofield. She was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado and graduated from Colorado Springs High School and Blair Business College. Gloria was very active in the community, serving on numerous boards and committees, helping countless people.
Gloria is survived by her sons: Steve Groth, Larry Groth, and Jim (Marla) Groth; daughter, Ivy (Lee) Honnen; grandchildren: Melody, Mark, Allison, Adam, and Andrew; and great-grandchildren: Ansleigh, Ariel, Ryleii, Leah, Beth, and Elsie.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the Shrine of Remembrance "America the Beautiful" Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Reception to follow at Larry's.
Memorial Contributions in Gloria's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

Hello from Melbourne Australia.
Adam is my son-in-law and through all the stories Adam has told... I have grown to love & admire Gloria.
She has been a strong influence in Adams life... and he will miss her greatly.
His wife Maree describes Gloria as a Saint.
She has left a wonderful legacy.
My regret is ... I did not meet Gloria in person. In addition I would´ve loved to attend one of her parties or Bingo nights!

Gloria was a profound and significant influence for me. She role modeled service before self, was a strong voice for all in this community and had an energy that was to be envied when it came to volunteerism. I am a better person for having known her and loved her and this community is much better for her constant and consistent efforts to make it so. Our family's condolences to Jim, Marla and all of her family for your loss of such a special and significant person. She truly made a difference.
