Gloria Perez Obituary

Gloria Perez of Colorado Springs passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 while in the loving arms of family.

The second child of Domitilia Aragon (Rocky Ford) and Jesse Perez (La Junta), Gloria was born on July 5, 1945. She is survived by daughters Michelle Dunton (Todd Ferguson), Teri Johnson (Kelly) & Nicole Muller (Jaime); her six grandchildren (Danielle, Xavier, Eric, Aubrey, Casey & Kieran) and a two month old great granddaughter (Amelia); her siblings Rose Perez, Evelyn Garcia (Tony), Frank Aragon (Gloria), Steve Aragon (Anita) & Diana Hinojosa (Telesforo); her Stepfather Frank G. Aragon of Rocky Ford, CO, and a small country of nieces and nephews. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister Katherine Montoya.

Gloria was an avid reader and loved working on crossword puzzles. Never a Thursday would pass without the purchase of the latest issue of Women's World. She traveled modestly in her lifetime, collecting souvenir spoons wherever she went, and lived for 6 years in Holland and Italy. She embraced new cultures and instilled a sense of adventure into her children. She was an exceptional cook and those who knew her well will miss her chicken enchiladas and tortillas.

A memorial will be held at 11:00 am on March 11, 2017 at 2377 N. Academy Blvd in Colorado Springs, and an internment will be at a later date in Rocky Ford at Hillcrest Cemetery.
